Terms and conditions of service

Amplephone and its customers agree to the following terms of service:

Amplephone offers Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services of the best available quality, however does not offer warranty of quality or availability of its services. The term customer in this document applies to every person, company or other entity that have opened an account with Amplephone. Customers agree to all terms below upon opening an account with Amplephone using our signup form. All parties (Amplephone and its customers) agree that they will conduct business in compliance to all requirements of Canadian law.

  1. Amplephone service is dependent upon a reliable high speed internet connection. In the event of internet service disruption including power failure, Amplephone service will be unavailable. The customer is advised to maintain an alternative means of communication such as a mobile phone as a backup service.

  2. In order to deliver the best possible prices, Amplephone quality is "as is", and may vary depending on the location of the customer and the destination of each call.After the 30 day trial period, Amplephone makes no warranties, expressed or implied, of fitness for a particular purpose, regarding its service.

  3. Amplephone service is intended for customers to self-serve. There is no support call center and no technicians will visit. All instructions on how to use your Amplephone service are available on amplephone.com once logged in as a customer. In the event a customer cannot resolve an issue, they may seek additional support by email to the Amplephone support team.

  4. The customer is responsible for the safekeeping of their Login and Password information. If this information is lost or given to any other party in any way, the customer understands that this will be his/her sole responsibility. The customer agrees to manage his/her passwords through the reset facility on amplephone.com to protect his/her account from any suspicious activity.

  5. The customer agrees to behave lawfully while using this service. Call usage has to comply with all applicable laws in Canada, the USA and the location country of the customer.

  6. Amplephone will direct any payment, firstly to pay negative balances. The customer understands that all negative balances are due, and phone services will be suspended once balances reach $0, even while the service is in use. Service will be restored once the account is in a positive balance by making a payment on the Amplephone website

  7. Amplephone reserves the right to temporarily suspend any account or permanently discontinue service at any time without notice, and will issue full refunds on unused balances.

  8. ALL rate quotes are valid only on the day they are issued. It is the responsibility of the customer to validate current rates.

  9. Originating from payphones to Amplephone toll-free numbers are not allowed.

  10. The use of scripts that modify the customer portal interface (for example, Grease monkey scripts to alter choices in web forms) are strictly forbidden and can lead to immediate account deletion and legal actions.
  11. The customer is responsible for all usage of his/her accounts and is also responsible of the actual balance in their account.

  12. At the sole discretion of Amplephone, you may incur a port away fee for any DID number(s) leaving our network as this is a pass-through charge from other carrier(s).

  13. All traffic routed to the following markets will be rated based on durations measured by the following billing increments: United States and Canada: 6 seconds increment, starting at a minimum of 6 seconds. Mexico: 60 seconds increment starting at a minimum of 60 seconds. Rest of the world: 6 seconds increment starting at a minimum of 6 seconds.

  14. The customer agrees that he/she is not provided the right to start any claim, remedy or action, legal or OTHERWISE THAT may harm Amplephone in any way that includes but is not limited to financially.

  15. Amplephone agrees to not sell or share your personal or corporate information to third parties.

  16. THIS DOCUMENT MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT ANNOUNCEMENT, ALL CHANGES WILL BE POSTED ON THE Amplephone WEBSITE.

  17. NON-DISCLOSURE: ONLY IF SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED BY LAW, CUSTOMERS ARE ALLOWED TO DIVULGATE THE STRICLY NECESSARY INFORMATION ABOUT USE OR PAYMENTS OF THEIR Amplephone SERVICES, IN ALL OTHER CASES, IT IS PROHIBITED TO DIVULGATE INFORMATION ABOUT Amplephone Including BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO END USERS.

  18. Amplephone retains the right to voluntarily hand over information regarding customers, usage and calls if it is requested by law by governmental organizations.

  19. Amplephone understands that the service may not meet the needs of every customer. For that reason we offer a money back guarantee as follows: if during the first 30 days of service, the customer no longer wants the service, they must notify Amplephone at support@amplephone.com It is the customer's responsibility to return their Amplephone adaptor, and upon receipt of the adaptor, Amplephone will refund the registration cost, less the value of customer usage. Refund will not cover the cost of ported numbers from previous providers or the cost of porting a number to another provider.

  20. Hardware warrantee: Amplephone will replace your adaptor at no cost within the first year of service in the event of service disruption due to hardware failure through normal usage of the hardware. Contact support@amplephone.com to determine if your adaptor needs to be replaced. Upon receipt of the new adaptor, the customer is required to ship the old adaptor back to Amplephone at Amplephone's expense.

  21. Our partners use a private security firm to automatically screen IP addresses upon logging in to the customer portal and also when you sign up for a new account. If this score is too high, you may be denied access by the system. You will not held Amplephone accountable for any inconvenience, financial loss or other issues related to this security measure.

  22. The customer will not use Amplephone termination (outbound) services for telemarketing purposes (Including, but not limited to Automated Dialers, Call Centers and collection agencies).Amplephone will suspend such activities without warning.

  23. The customer will not use any Amplephone DID number as their caller ID display for calls related to telemarketing / dialer traffic / polls / mass traffic campaigns, nor will use Amplephone DID numbers to receive traffic consistent with the aforementioned purposes (Mostly short calls, of very short duration). These activities can result in the suspension or removal of your DID number, Amplephone reserves the right to do it without prior notice.

  24. It is the customer's responsibility to verify and test that any number delivered to his/her account is active and working properly before publishing it. The test should be made from a landline or cell phone provider. Amplephone will not be held liable for any damages or advertising expenses arising from receiving a non-working number. If a number is confirmed non-working it will be deleted from the account and the cost of the number refunded.



  25. 911 Terms & Conditions

  26. Due to recent pursuant FCC rulings and regulations, all customers who are using our service as their residential or business telephone carrier must activate 911 Emergency Services on at least one of the phone numbers provided.

  27. Enhanced 911, the portion of our 911 service which delivers physical address information to your local PSAP is not guaranteed. It is possible that your physical address information may not be passed to the PSAP dispatcher. On occasions such as this you will be required to give the dispatcher the location of your emergency in order to receive emergency service assistance.

  28. Due to the nature of VoIP networks, we cannot and do not guarantee your emergency call will go through. Loss of power, Internet access and or several other conditions may cause 911 to be inoperable. We have no control over those types of situations therefore are not held liable. We will do everything within our power to prevent service outages within the network.

  29. We have added an extension to our network which all VoIP.ms users may call to test their Caller ID value. At any time, you may test your outbound caller ID value by dialing '1-555-555-0911' through our network.

  30. 29. By using Enhanced 911 service, the customer agrees that Amplephone, its contractors, executives, members, customers, agents, employees, carriers, 911 providers, and any anyone else associated with Amplephone is not held liable for emergency calls failing, even if it is determined that it is the fault of Amplephone or its associates.



Privacy Policy


1. Main statements
The current privacy policy about customers states the way that Amplephone collects, uses, communicate and manage customer personal information. Amplephone is committed to respect and protect customer's privacy. Amplephone voluntary adheres to the Canadian association of normalization rules about protection of personal information. You agree that Amplephone can, at its own discretion, modify its privacy policy, with or without notice. The current privacy policy is available on the Amplephone web site via the internet at amplephone.com. By using our services after any modification of the privacy policy, you agree with the policy and its modifications. The Amplephone website can contain links to other websites. You agree that Amplephone is not responsible of the content or practices of any of those websites.

2. Information Amplephone collects
A) Signup: Amplephone records information about you at the moment of the signup via the website.
B) Payment: When you make a payment, Amplephone may keep the payment information in order to keep a track of your transactions history. Amplephone will always use secure storage practices to keep this information. Amplephone will not retain credit card information for security purposes.
C) Marketing research: Amplephone can collect some of your information in order to do marketing research. This information will be used to help Amplephone improve its content, web site and offers.
D) Complaints: Amplephone can collect information about you when a complaint is filed against Amplephone services. This information may help Amplephone to solve issues related to a complaint.

3. Use of personal information
Amplephone uses the customer personal information for one or more of the following reasons:
(1) To identify you.
(2) To personalize the content of the Amplephone web site presented to you.
(3) To inform you about the updates on the Amplephone web site.
(4) To improve the content of the Amplephone web site.
(5) To promote Amplephone products and services to you.
(6) To process your orders.
(7) To process your complaints, feedback and requests.
(8) To improve the quality of Amplephone products and services.

4.Cookies
Amplephone web site uses cookies to quantify the number of visits, the average duration of each visit, the viewed pages, user authentication to the customer portal and other statistics related to the use of Amplephone web site. The cookies are simple text files stored on your computer hard disk. The cookies cannot damage nor read any information stored on your hard disk. Some parts of the web site, such as the customer portal, will not work properly if your browser doesn't accept cookies. Consequently, your browser must accept cookies in order to use the Amplephone web site without anomalies.

5. Security
Amplephone understands the importance of protecting your information and therefore uses the most secure and recent protocols to protect your personal information collected on the web site. Amplephone does not make any statement or guarantee on the safety of the information provided to Amplephone. You understand that you provide this information to Amplephone at your own risk.

6. Your agreement
Except for what is described in the Terms and Conditions document, and this Privacy Policy, Amplephone will not sell, transfer or reveal your personal information to third parties without your agreement. Amplephone may have the obligation to provide your personal information to legal entities in order to take action on a warrant or an investigation. Certain personal information can be communicated to third parties in order to process your order or provide what you ordered, or to process any complaint or request from you. Amplephone can also communicate personal information in order to help Amplephone to recover a debt you have with Amplephone.
